The Rules

>>1. You MUST be 17 or older. This RPG will contain adult themes and situations. If you are under 17, unless you've spoken with one of the mods, then beat it. We do make exceptions, but those are pretty rare.

>>2. Know your character. Know him/her well. If your character is someone who was already established on the show, the get to know their history (examples: Chris, Wyatt, Bianca, older versions of Piper, Phoebe, Paige, or Leo). If your character is purely of your imagination, be sure to provide a complete summary of your character's history.

>>3. You'll need a journal made specifically for your character. The name should have a reference to who you are playing. All journals are to be friend's only, and you must add all of the players to your friends list.

Also, on your information page, be sure to include lots of information about your character. Make it nice. Be creative. It's important that other players, if they need to, have somewhere they can go to refresh on who your pup is and what they do.

>>4. You must have an AIM account. It makes things more interesting, and it's how we mods contact you. IM RP/AIM logs are to be posted under an lj-cut, and a short summary of what the conversation detailed should be in included. Make sure to put the character name in place of the AIM screenname, and be sure to separate the logs.

>>5. All long posts are lj-cut friendly, savvy?

>>6. You must have at least one icon pic of your character. If you don't have one, there are millions of them out there floating around on the internet. Or you could kindly ask one of the members here to make some for you. We encourage you to use them. Remember, a picture says a thousand words!

>>7. The answer to question 12 is None, silly! Ice cream doesn't have any bones!

>>8. Keep the OOC talk in the OOC journal. OOC talk will not be tolerated in the any other journal.

>>9. Good grammar is a must. No "rotf" or "lyke omg!" or tYpInG lIkE tHiS. Nobody wants to read something like that. Not to mention, the mark of a proper writer is good grammar.

>>10. The only unacceptable form of writing would be the following example:

- *pouts* Bianca tosses a rock at Chris's head.

Astrix are annoying. You may write first person in personal journals. You may write third person on the boards. It should be like reading a story, which is the best part!

>>11. Most themes are allowed. If your post is of a 'R' or 'NC-17' nature, you MUST post it under a cut and provide a warning ahead of the cut. Posts that warrant warnings include:

Drug use (Self-explanatory. Any drug use aside from cigarettes is cause for a warning.)
Sex/Rape (Love scenes are completely acceptable if they serve to benefit the character development or storyline, or if you just want to have a little fun. Keep in mind though, this is not Hustler. Don't abuse the privilege.)
Graphic Violence (Bloodshed and death, limbs severed, heads exploding, you get the idea. If you think it's too violent? Then it probably is.)
Gratuitous Foul Language (It's understandable that some characters tend to be a little foul mouthed in anger, and it's also reasonable that some pups just have plain out dirty mouths. But if they're going off on some wild tangent with endless strings of curse words? That's needs a warning label.)

These are just a few examples. Feel free to let your creativity wonder. We do have younger members here who are not privy to that sort of writing, so please, use discretion wisely.

>>12. OC drama is completely FORBIDDEN. If you have a problem with another character, respectively keep it out of the group. If the problem cannot be solved by the respective parties, you may contact one of the mods to help settle the problem. Progeny has always been a relatively harmonious group, and we'd like to keep it that way. Proof positive, we've been running for about 4 years now without any real problems.

>>13. IC drama, on the other hand, is openly welcomed. Plot ideas are also welcomed. Some of the best ideas come from idle chatter between players! But a kind reminder, NO GODMODDING. If your idea/plot involves anything of another character, you have to clear it with that character's writer. Major plot changes need to be cleared with the mods, as to not interrupt the current game wide plot going on at any given time.

>>14. The mods here reserve the right to reject any applications that are not filled out correctly. We also reserve the right to reject the PB if deemed unsuitable. We're pretty lenient on the PBs though. Just be sure not to choose someone completely obnoxious or over used. Your application must be approved by BOTH mods.

*One thing we've come to notice recently is the repetitiveness of powers. That said, if it's a power on the Power Chart, then it cannot be given to a new character. We will reject characters based on that because it's getting to be a problem.

>>15. It's advised that new players to the game read up on past threads to catch up on the game's history. You don't have to, of course, seeing that we've been running for so long, but it's good to have a little foreknowledge before just jumping right in. Don't be shy! The mods would be happy to fill you in and give you a summary of past and recent events so your new pup can fit comfortably into the game.

>>16. BE ACTIVE!! You must post at least once a week. Or you will be cut from the game, and your character will be either recast, or killed off. This is a fast-paced and plot heavy game, so a lack of participation holds up everyone. If you need time away, at the very least, let one of the mods know. We are all very aware that real life happens, and real life always holds precedence over RP. Just let us know, and we're happy to give you the time you need.

>>17. Last but not least, HAVE FUN. If it's starting to feel like work, then it's not fun anymore. Just have a good time! If you remember only one thing, remember this: "It's only a game."
